NORTHERN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DIVISION NEWPORT AMBULANCE SERVICE, Inc.
Dial 911 in Emergencies
PO Box 911
Newport, Vermont 05855
Our call volume for the year is down this past year from the previous year’s 1,440 calls to 1,094 in the present year. Of these a total of 526 were emergency 911 calls. The breakdown of those emergency calls for the towns is as follows; Belvidere 14, Eden 64, Hyde Park 181, Johnson 238 and Waterville 29.
Due to the present economy we have been extremely conservative when preparing the budget for your 2011 Town Budgets. With the potential changes in the Nation’s Health Care system being discussed in Washington, D.C. we have had to be careful when forecasting future revenues. Our hopes are that Congress will simply not shift the cost to you the local property tax payer.
Due to both the hard work by our staff as well as paying off start off costs of our service we are able to finish this past year within our projected budget. Now we look forward to projecting and working towards future needs.
Unfortunately we no longer offer a subscription to our services due to legal concerns. We are still soliciting and accepting donations for the building fund. Donations are tax deductible as we are a not-for-profit 501 C3 Corporation. Last year we were able to reduce our budget due to these donations.
We thank the citizens of your five Towns’ for your support and look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Paradis
Executive Director
