WHO: The Hyde Park Recreation Fields Project Committee is a group of seventeen citizens interested in fostering recreational activities and opportunities in Hyde Park. WHAT: The Committee’s first project is the development of recreation fields for baseball, softball and soccer. The fields will include a walking trail and three small playground areas. Seasonal use would include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. A restroom/concession stand/storage facility is also planned.

WHERE: The fields will be located on fifteen acres of land adjoining the Town of Hyde Park Emerson Gravel Pit off McFarlane Road in Garfield.

HOW: Fundraising efforts are underway for the development of the fields. The Committee is seeking grants, donations of cash, labor, materials and equipment. Voters have appropriated funding for the project at annual town meetings.
