2010 ANNUAL REPORT
The Town of Hyde Park Planning Commission (PC) is currently working under 4 grants:
- A Municipal Planning Grant from the VT Department of Economic, Housing, & Community Development for the Town Plan update.
- A Municipal Planning Grant from the VT Department of Economic, Housing, & Community Development for updating the Village Plan and finding efficiencies between the Village and Town Plan.
- A Community Wildfire Protection Plan grant from the George D. Aiken Resource Conservation & Development Council for mapping and identifying wildfire vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies in Hyde Park and Johnson.
- A pair of grants from the VT Agency of Natural Resource for updating the Town flood hazard regulations and exploring the possibility of incorporating fluvial erosion technology into the bylaws.
Additionally, in 2010, the PC commenced the process of writing a new Town Plan, and worked on updates and revisions to the Town Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations.
The PC would like to publicly recognize the contribution to the community of Member Kevin Fitzgerald, who was compelled to resign in 2010.
PC meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. If the work load compels a second meeting during the month, it is held on the third Wednesday at 7:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend.
