PUBLIC NOTICE
TOWN OF HYDE PARK, VERMONT

Under authority of 24 V.S.A, Sections 1971 and 1972 the Hyde Park Selectboard voted at their December 15, 2004 meeting to adopt changes and/or amendments to the Town of Hyde Park Village Motor Vehicle Ordinance. The purpose of the amendments is to update Section IV, Subsections 1.- Speed Limits and 3. - A summary of Ordinance contents is as follows:
Section 1: Authority
Section 2: Purpose
Section 3: Definitions
Section 4: Motor Vehicle Limitations
Section 5: Exemptions – Acts of Statute
Section 6: Enforcement
Section 7: Fines for Ordinance Violation
Section 8: Severability
Section 9: Repeal of Prior Ordinances

The full text of the Ordinance may be examined at the Hyde Park Town Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:00 PM. If a petition, signed by five percent of the voters is submitted to the Clerk or Selectboard within forty-four days of adoption, the Selectboard shall call a special town meeting within sixty days of receipt of the petition to determine whether the voters will disapprove the new Ordinance. Unless a petition is received, the Ordinance will become effective sixty days after its adoption by the Selectboard. If a petition is filed, the Ordinance will become effective once it is approved by a vote of the town.
