2009 LISTERS’ REPORT
From January 1 to December 31, 2009, 51 zoning permits were issued for the Town and 8 zoning permits were issued for the Village. In total (59) this is the same number of permits that were issued in 2008. Several new home permits were issued, but most were issued for modifications to existing structures. It is anticipated that the 2010 Grand List will increase by 1.5% to 2.0%. We will have a better answer for you near the end of April. The Town’s CLA (Common Level of Appraisal) has dropped to 98.32% and that means that our appraised values are very close to market values (100%) of properties around the State.
Again this year, we have been fortunate to enlist Julie Rohleder to assist us with data entry. In 2009 Gary Anderson and Chasity Fagnant were elected to the Board of Listers and the Selectboard appointed Deanna Judkins. Each year the Town contracts with Automated Property Assessment Services of Adamant, Vermont to visit and appraise properties that have had changes to them during the last year.
Once again the Listers want to remind Hyde Park residents to file their State Form HS-122 (Homestead Declaration & Property Tax Adjustment Claim). It is important to do this annually so that homeowners become eligible for residential tax rates and income sensitive property tax rebates.
