LANPHER MEMORIAL LIBRARY 2009 ANNUAL REPORT
Mission Statement: The mission of the Lanpher Memorial Library is to provide quality materials and services which fulfill educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike. It also serves as a center for sharing skills and ideas and for fostering community spirit.
The wide scope of our mission statement is reflected in the variety of ways the Lanpher Library is used and is changing with the times. We provide free Downloadable Audiobook services, free access to the Vermont Online Library, we have 7 computers, including 2 laptops available for public use and are in the beginning stages of automating our catalog. Some things do not change however, and with the help of our volunteers, we strive to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all who use the library.
The Trustees have been working hard to assess the building for repairs to the original structure, which is now 94 years old. They are also continually assessing the services we provide the community as we look toward the future. They are a dedicated group who volunteer their time and efforts to be sure the library is running smoothly and safely, while raising and using funds responsibly.
