HYDE PARK FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Hyde Park Fire Department holds its regular monthly meetings on the first and third Thursday each month, at 7:00 PM, at the Hyde Park Fire Station.
2011 Annual Report
For the period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 the Hyde Park Town Fire Department responded to the following calls for assistance:
Structure Fires 12 Automatic Alarms 18 Wild Land 1
Other Types 40 Rescue 10 Vehicle Fire 1
In October, sadly, the department had one of its active members pass away. Our Safety Officer and former Assistant Chief John N. Scott served the department for over 41 years. He also served for many years as the secretary for the Lamoille County Fire Mutual Aid System as well as serving on numerous regional school committees. His wit and humor will be missed by all. Our thoughts are with his family.
The Hyde Park Town Fire Department would like to thank the taxpayers for their continued support of the department.
FIRE PERMITS
Fire Permits in the Town of Hyde Park may be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:00PM. Fire Permits will not be issued on weekends. If you want to burn on Saturday or Sunday, you need to obtain your permit prior to the weekend. Also, permits will not be issued for more than three consecutive days.
REMEMBER, the person setting a fire must have a written permit in their possession! If they do not, they may receive a “Vermont Fire Prevention Ticket,” which results in court action and a fine. They are also subject to any costs involved in putting a fire out by the Fire Department. ALL fires must be attended until they are out. Fire Permits are not required if there is snow on the site, however, you need to notify the Sheriff’s Department by calling 888-3502.
