HYDE PARK CEMETERY COMMISSIONERS
2010 REPORT

The Hyde Park Cemetery Commissioners started the 2010 year with their annual site walk in early May, as well as hiring of a new caretaker. 

The four (4) cemeteries supervised by the Commissioners include the Village Cemetery, Jedediah Hyde Cemetery, Center Cemetery, and the Holbrook Cemetery.    Other cemeteries in Hyde Park which operate under their own association were dispersed the sum of $1,375.00 in monies appropriated by the Town of Hyde Park.

Signs stating “No Dogs Allowed in Cemetery” have been posted.  Please do not use the cemeteries as a place to walk your dogs, or allow your dog(s) to run.

Tree removal continues to be a yearly project.  Several large trees have been removed in the Village Cemetery, but there is still more that needs attention.

Every year we have stone repair work in Holbrook Cemetery, Village Cemetery, and Center Cemetery.  Many old stones have been reset in these cemeteries.

It was decided that the stones in all the cemeteries will need to be cleaned again.  We are in hopes to begin this process in 2011. 

Grave lots are sold at $250.00 per lot as of April 1, 2010.  Anyone interested in purchasing lots should contact one of the Commissioners.  Maps of each cemetery are also available at the Town Clerk’s Office.
